Focuslight Strengthens Southeast Asia Manufacturing Platform with Advanced Singapore High-Precision Micro-optics Backend Line and New Malaysia High-Volume Site

Xi’an, China – January 5, 2026 – Focuslight Technologies Inc. today announced a significant expansion of its global manufacturing platform in Southeast Asia, marked by two key milestones: the successful establishment of an advanced high-precision micro-optics backend production line in Singapore, and the development of a new high-volume manufacturing center in Malaysia.

Together, these investments reinforce Focuslight’s strategy of combining European-engineered precision with scalable, resilient global manufacturing, while addressing growing market demand—particularly from the optical communication sector—for increased capacity, flexibility, and supply-chain security.

 

Singapore: Advanced High-Precision Micro-Optics Backend Production

Focuslight has successfully established a new backend production line in Singapore dedicated to high-precision micro-optics. The line supports critical backend processes including dicing, cleaning, packaging, and final inspection.

Fully qualified through Focuslight’s internal quality and process validation systems, the Singapore high-precision micro-optics backend line is now ready to support customer programs, particularly in the field of optical communication and other high-reliability applications, while offering customers greater geographic flexibility within Southeast Asia.

Together with the previously expanded backend facility in Dongguan, China, the Singapore line forms part of a complementary, multi-site backend manufacturing network supporting wafer-level micro-optics fabricated in Europe, ensuring consistent performance, quality, and reliability worldwide.

 

Malaysia: A New High-Volume Manufacturing Hub

In parallel, Focuslight is establishing a new manufacturing site in the Johor–Singapore Special Economic Zone (JS-SEZ), Malaysia. With building construction completed, the company is progressing with interior decoration, facility build-out, and cleanroom installation. The site is scheduled to reach operational readiness by Q3 2026.

Designed as a core mass-production hub, the Malaysia facility will support any Focuslight product line transitioning into large-volume manufacturing. The project spans approximately 13,000 m² of land with 7,000 m² of production space, significantly enhancing Focuslight’s ability to scale efficiently while maintaining consistent quality and delivery performance.

The Malaysia site represents a key pillar of Focuslight’s commitment to Empowering Supply Chain Freedom and Resilience, providing customers with scalable capacity, operational flexibility, and dependable fulfillment in a rapidly evolving global environment.

 

A Unified Global Operations Platform

The Singapore and Malaysia expansions integrate seamlessly into Focuslight’s global operational network, which includes manufacturing and R&D sites across China, Germany, Switzerland, Singapore, and Malaysia. This unified platform enables Focuslight to deliver optimized, efficient, and forward-looking photonics manufacturing solutions across a wide range of markets, including optical communications, consumer electronics, semiconductors, industrial, automotive, and medical applications.
