New Product Release | Focuslight Releases a series of standardized silicon and fused silica lenses, and lens arrays designed for optical communications

Time:2024-11-21

On November 21, 2024, Focuslight Technologies released a series of standardized silicon and fused silica lenses, and lens arrays designed for optical communications. Featuring their high precision and consistency, these lenses and arrays are optimal for focusing, fiber array collimation, and coupling functions in the next-generation optical communication applications like transceivers and separated TOSA / ROSA scenarios. They offer stable coupling and collimation performance at a competitive price, even under the stringent requirements of high-speed optical modules. We also provide simulation services to our customers to optimize product designs based on simulation results, targeting even higher optical performance.

Focuslight’s Silicon and Fused Silica Collimators and Lens Arrays

Product Overview

Focuslight employs its core technology of photolithography and reactive ion etching  in wafer-level precision optics manufacturing  to mass-produce lenses and lens arrays with various optical materials and structures, for example, Single Lens with V-groove, N×N Large Lens Array, 1×N (A)spherical Lens Array, Micro Prism Lens, and Diffractive Optics (DOE). We deliver these products with contour deviations as low as RMS <10nm, with minimal reflectivity at AOI=0-15°R and customizable coatings. Strict quality control ensures that products perform exceptionally in complex optical systems, with dimensional tolerances of ±15 µm with silicon or ±25 µm with fused silica, thickness tolerances of ±10 µm, and radii ranging from 150 to 10,000 µm, with tolerances of ±3% or lower.

With extensive customer base and deep understanding of the optical communication applications, Focuslight develops its technology and product development roadmap to meet specific needs of our customers in this industry from design simulation support and feasibility studies to prototype development and mass manufacturing.
